I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
